I love how a child or teen can teach you something very profound one minute and make you laugh out loud the next. One of the most gratifying things for me is joining with parents to help their child and family. I’m also passionate about helping children with severe difficulties or who have experienced trauma or serious losses. No problem is too big or too small in my book.
I’ll admit that I am a lifelong chocoholic. This prompted me to create a snack room in our office for our clients which I secretly (and not so secretly) raid more often than I will admit. When not with my family or working, I enjoy creative pursuits like watercolor painting, wheel-thrown pottery, and playing the piano.
Kathy Searle, LCSW
I am honored by the opportunity to work with children and their families on their journey to healing and hope. Children truly are amazing, I delight in seeing the world through their eyes and the enchantment they find in the world around them.
My large family not only keeps me busy, but also very grounded and humble. I have a love of learning and enjoy being able to learn new skills. In my free time I can be found reading, gardening, sewing, crocheting, and spending time with the ones I love.
Juliana Powell, LCSW
I find great joy and fulfillment in working with children and teenagers. I believe in the strength and resilience of children and teens. I have found that with the right information, guidance, and support they can heal, improve behaviors, and reach their maximum potential. I have a special interest in working with those who have experienced trauma, chronic illness, and grief and loss.
I am the mother of four children and so when I am not at work I stay busy taking care of them. I enjoy spending time with my husband and kids. I also enjoy sewing and knitting and have more projects dreamed up than I will ever have time to complete.
Gina Roper, LCSW
I love the idea that play is the language of children. Play is how children learn about themselves and the world. I learn each time I work with a teen and observe the process of self-discovery and healing. I am humbled by the opportunity to provide a safe, therapeutic space for children and teens to process and connect with their life experiences. It is wonderful to partner with families as they discover their strength, skills, connection, compassion, resilience, and playfulness, even in the hardest moments.
When I am not at work, my play is being with my family outdoors, traveling, cooking, and exercising.
Chelsey Winegar, LCSW
I have always been drawn to working with children and youth. I am passionate about helping them see their inner strengths, build on their resilience, and overcome painful moments in their lives no matter how big or small. I believe there is a lot of healing power in laughter, so I enjoy creating a safe and fun space to help clients navigate the difficult experiences they have had. I am humbled by parents and their child(ren) who allow me into their vulnerable spaces to find hope and healing.
In my spare time, I enjoy any activity that involves my family, which usually involves doing something outdoors. I also enjoy reading, cooking, baking, beating my husband in any game we play, and trying to keep up with our daughter.
Bacall Hincks, LCSW
I am committed to helping children and teens and parents—the entire family. I believe when parents are part of the process of helping their children, long-term positive changes occur. I value relationships and the growth that can be obtained through building safe spaces to develop relationships. Through my work with kinship care, I have gained a knowledge of attachment and how it is an integral part of working with children and families. I believe it is important to take a trauma-informed, attachment-focused approach in all the work I do.
When outside of work, I love to travel and spend time with my family. Our family loves to camp and spend time outdoors, but I also enjoy just spending time at home. I find the balance in being outside and enjoying friends and family provides peace and support.
Missy Johnson, PhD
My passion lies in working with children and adolescents in a variety of capacities. I love helping children discover new things about themselves and what they can offer the world. I feel very passionate about helping individuals who have experienced challenges learn how to cope and move forward in productive and healthy ways. I also love to join in the excitement with which children see in the world.
Outside of work I am a passionate traveler, particularly international travel. I love to explore new countries and experience new cultures. I have a deep love for New York City and particularly Broadway and can talk about musicals all day long. I am a lover of pop culture, nature, exploring, friends, family, food, and trying to live every day to the fullest.
Elizabeth Madsen, ACMHC
I am passionate about helping teens and adults who are dealing with anxiety, perfectionism, shame, self-criticism, negative body image, low self-esteem and eating disorders. I help my clients learn skills to be able to experience relief from anxiety, establish a healthy relationship with food, make peace with their body, and restore balance in their lives. I love watching as clients are able to find freedom with food and appreciation for their bodies. As we work together, the goal is to move towards a more connected and richer life, with more satisfying and fulfilling relationships.
Outside of work I spend lots of time with my family. I love cheering at my kids’ soccer games, skiing, traveling, and taking long walks while listening to good books and podcasts.
Jaynie Palmer, CSW
From a young age I knew that my career would include working with children and youth. I am very passionate about helping them work through the difficult times in their lives and helping them believe that they are important, strong, and worthy of love. Children and youth are so resilient, and I love seeing them achieve milestones and realizing they can overcome their struggles. I am honored to be trusted to help individuals and families navigate the healing process.
Some of the things I enjoy most in life include spending time with my family, specifically my nephews, playing with my dogs, traveling, trying new foods, baking, and watching sports.
Sarah Frederickson, CSW
Since my childhood, I have been drawn to helping others in need. I have dedicated my adult life to assisting children and families with a variety of concerns, including many different kinds of trauma. I feel privileged to witness such vulnerability in therapy while children, teens, and parents work to find healing.
When not at work, I love spending time with family and friends, traveling, or reading.
Sally Morris, CSW
I’ve always known that my life would be centered around working with children, youth, and their families. There are so many reasons why this is the best job ever, but my favorite is helping children and youth reach their full potential and helping them feel happier and better about themselves. I see myself as a guide, helping children and youth through their challenges, emotional burdens, and misconceptions to a place where they feel empowered and full of hope. I consider it an honor to be part of their journey.
When away from work, I love being with my family, going on adventures, snuggling up with a good book and my cat, playing games (where I might be just a little too competitive), and attempting my newest hobby of quilting.
Madison Wolfe, ACMHC
I have always had a passion for helping children, youth, and families. I love that as a therapist I get to travel on a journey with families toward fostering growth and facing challenges in an environment that is supportive. I believe there is healing with connection, laughter, and play. I have worked closely in home settings and know the value family has in a child’s life.
When not at work, I love hanging with friends and family. I love cooking and bringing people together. I also enjoy training with my dog in different dog sports.
Lindsey Bavetta, ACMHC
Sarah Kamhout
I’m passionate about the mind-body relationship, and ways that feeling physically safe can help children and families thrive emotionally. I see my role as a coach, helping clients and caregivers understand how emotions feel in their bodies, and how they can do things that matter most to them, even when they are experiencing big feelings. I value working with clients in a collaborative manner, recognizing that I bring some expertise in evidence-based therapeutic methods to the table, and clients and their loved ones bring expertise in their personalities, routines, and goals.
When I am not studying, I enjoy trying new recipes, hiking, and photography. I’m an Idahoan at heart, so I especially enjoy cooking potatoes and exploring the mountains.
Kenzie Stocking
I believe that there is so much power in helping children and adolescents be resilient through healing and growing and I am grateful to be part of that process. My favorite part about working with children and adolescents is the playful atmosphere they generate while growing, learning, and progressing. I strongly believe in bringing play, humor, and curiosity to the therapy space and focusing on individual strengths to help overcome challenges. Successful therapy includes collaboration, warmth, and empathy as children, teens, and families learn and heal.
When away from work, I love to spend time outdoors. My favorite outdoor activities are hiking, riding horses, and playing volleyball. At home, I have a multitude of houseplants that I spend a great time caring for as well as a garden during the summer and I also enjoy rejuvenating myself through yoga and meditation.

Jen Gale, PsyD
I am dedicated to helping caregivers figure out what might be going on with their child, so that they can get the appropriate services and support to help their child thrive. As a pediatric neuropsychologist, I have seen just about everything—from developmental, medical, psychiatric, learning, and neurological difficulties. My goal is not only to sort out the puzzle of what is happening for the child through a comprehensive assessment, but to also provide parents with specific recommendations and suggestions about what to do with information they receive.
Outside of the office, I enjoy parenting my spirited toddler and escaping into the Utah wilderness, especially snowboarding in the backcountry in the wintertime.
Max Gale, PsyD
During my 15 years of experience, I’ve learned that the strengths of a child or family are the catalyst for resolving problems. I use this approach when evaluating teens and adults with complex psychiatric problems or with serious life struggles. A thorough assessment also helps parents, caseworkers, and judges sort out complicated factors in order to make informed decisions.
I am rejuvenated by spending time with my family and enjoying wilderness activities such as backcountry snowboarding and camping. The best of all worlds for me is when I get to combine those two loves and spend time in nature with my family.
Sari Soutor, PhD
My specialty training is in neuropsychological, psychological, learning disability, and autism spectrum disorder assessments. Although I am nearing a decade of providing clinical service to children and their families, I am continually fascinated by the complexities of the brain, the human psyche, and how individuals relate to one another.
It’s all my parents’ fault that I settled far away from Minnesota where I grew up. Very early in my life, I learned that “West is best” through our annual family camping trips. Somehow, I have retained only good memories of a family of seven in a tent trailer. I visited 23 states on those trips and another 26 on my own, which brings me to a comical total of 49.
